Mike Rowe, as many of you have seen him on the television show ‘Dirty Jobs’, brought awareness to the trade schools, community colleges, etc. The world has noticed and on our local level, we are seeing the changes firsthand. First of all, we have to give credit to Paul Hazuka, Principal at Cathedral High School. When approached with the opportunity to convert the woodworking shop to a welding shop in a matter of weeks, he didn’t hesitate and this started the ball rolling! The Fliszar’s did the majority of the leg work and got the ball rolling, with help from Specsys, Big Idea’s, the New Ulm Fire Department, and others in the community. The article says it best!
