MACHINE Description

  • The electric tube Notcher was specifically designed to notch schedule 40 pipe ranging in sizes from ¼” to 2”.
    • Imperial: 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″,2″
    • Metric: 6.35; 9.5; 12.7; 19.05; 25.4; 31.75; 38.1; 50.8mm
  • The 220 volt single phase machine provides clean and fast notches. Approx. weight of machine only 203 lbs.
  • Operation of the TN-200E is easy, simply inset the end of the pipe you need to cope, the TN-200E will notch one side and to notch the other side simply rotate the pipe 180 degrees and reinsert.  That is a perfect 90 degree notch in seconds.

USE & lubrication

When powered up the machine rotates and drives the cutting mechanism in a continuous up and down motion.

  1. Lightly lubricate the cutter using lightweight oil (lps1, wd40 or similar)
  2. Clean the end of the pipe to remove dirt, burrs, metal chips and foreign materials.
    1. These may cause the blade to stick and not return freely.
    2. Material must be clean and dry (without oil).
    3. Material end should have a smooth surface.
  3. Place the end of the pipe into the correct sized hole.
    1. Important: After a cut is made, the scrap will usually fall through to the bottom of the machine. The scrap may be distorted from the cut and not fall through.  This will cause the blade to stick and not return to the open position.  Stop the motor, remove the cover, and lightly tap on the cutter body with a soft mallet to free the lodged piece.  Reinstall the cover.
  4. After the first cut is made, remove the pipe.
  5. Rotate and reposition the pipe as desired or move to the next piece for the next cut.
  6. Lightly lubricate the cutter after every 10-12 cuts. Use lightweight oil; lubricate enough to keep the blade wet but not enough to drip.

ONLY ONE PIPE SIZE SHOULD BE CUT AT A TIME.
