Large projects, like this seed corn facility, can take months to move through the shop. It starts with the design team finalizing the drawings, then all material and piece parts are ordered. Once the steel arrives, the process starts with shot blasting the material, sawing the material to length, drilling and coping any holes or cut outs needed. From there, the fabrication team adds the final touches needed before quality control inspections. Once approved, it is sent over to the paint department where the team prepares the items for paint, applies the coatings, and then prepares it for shipping. Truly, a team effort!
When large structural jobs such as this, the pieces ship out on trucks, usually unassembled. It is always fun when the customer sends photos after the installation.
